REVEREND Issues Statement Regarding Guitarist's Passing
October 2, 2010Davey Lee, the San Antonio, Texas-based guitarist for the metal bands REVEREND and BYFIST, died this past Friday morning (October 1) of a heart attack. He had played the guitar since the age of 15.
REVEREND has released the following statement regarding Davey's passing:
"With sad and heavy hearts we want to let all of our friends and fans know that Davey Lee, our lead guitarist, passed away Friday morning [October 1] at 10:00 a.m. from a heart attack. We will greatly miss his sense of humor, his love and dedication to his family and friends, metal music and to BYFIST/REVEREND.
"You will be sorely missed, Davey, but we know you will keep on rockin'!!!
"A viewing will be held on Tuesday [October 5] from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Grime's Funeral Home, located at 1214 Mulberry St. in Bandera, Texas. A Wednesday funeral service will be held at The Little Rock Church on 8589 State Highway 16 in Pipe Creek, Texas (time to be announced) with a gravesight ceremony at the Pipe Creek Cemetary after the church service."
REVEREND last year announced the addition of vocalist Robb Steele (TRANSLUCENT EXISTENCE, BYFIST, BITTUR HARVEST) to the group's ranks.
Former REVEREND/METAL CHURCH singer David Wayne died on May 10, 2005 due to complications from injuries he sustained in a head-on automobile accident several months earlier. He was 47 years old.
